What: platform_default_home() appends HERMES_DATA_DIR_SUFFIX literally to the hermes/.hermes leaf via platform_default_home_with(suffix), which fixes hermes_home(), hermes_root() and the update marker together.
Why: Python (_get_platform_default_hermes_home) and Desktop (platformDefaultHermesHome) both append it, so a hermes-setup launched in a suffix-only channel environment read and wrote the unsuffixed home and marker.
Red: paths::tests::data_dir_suffix_names_the_default_home_and_its_marker_root on the 0ec53574011 resolution (byte-verbatim extract, suffix ignored): left '.hermes' right '.hermes-channel-build-x'.
Green: passes on the real fixed source extract; also cargo check clean for x86_64-pc-windows-msvc (Tauri crate itself cannot build on this host).
