Keep one PM invariant (a musl ELF userland resolves to linux-<arch>-musl
and the default closure is satisfiable with musl-native artifacts) and
one installer invariant (uv_bootstrap_target picks musl uv from a musl
ELF interpreter even when ldd says glibc). Drop the lock-content and
URL-shape change-detectors.
Allow read-only merged-tag queries through the live-system guard, route checkpoint rekeying to its real ref-deletion owner, and update stale fixtures to exercise current update and PM boundaries. Fix the shutdown test wait by patching the bound server global.
Production:
- agent/bedrock_adapter.py, agent/vertex_adapter.py: pm.ensure_import ran at
module import. In any process that imports these modules without a committed
PM selection (CI's build_environment test venv, a fresh checkout) that sync
rebuilt the dependency environment mid-process and replaced sys.path with a
generation missing the caller's own packages (anthropic, aiohttp vanished).
The extra is now ensured at first client build / credential request.
- plugins/platforms/matrix/adapter.py: a complete install needs no
ensure_and_bind round trip; only a partial one syncs.
- tools/browser_tool.py: drop the facade's duplicate warm_agent_browser_npx_cache
shim; the compat pointer already resolves to browser_tool_install.
Test harness:
- tests/home_io_guard.py: PATH-entry probes (shutil.which) and the running
interpreter's own installation (stdlib reads, realpath ancestry, fixture
symlinks into it) are not Hermes state; a patched Path.expanduser must not
crash the guard. run_tests.sh no longer filters PATH — the guard owns it.
- tests/tui_gateway/conftest.py: import hermes_bootstrap before any file opens
a MagicMock hermes_constants window (6 files exited the process at boot).
- tests/hermes_cli/conftest.py probe_root: scratch checkouts the import guard
probes need hermes_bootstrap.py (the launcher imports it).
- tests/pm/_fixtures.py stage_host_python: a copied relocatable python needs
its stdlib beside it (No module named 'encodings' on CI).
- tests/install/e2e-assets/smoke-env.mjs: dependency-free env shaping so the
source-build-env probe runs under bare node (main deleted the Playwright
entry it was imported through).
- adapt main's new tests to branch seams (model_metadata_http, launch
completion tail, CI toolchain exports uv after python, source_launch
hermes_cli stub, systemd_notify single marker).
Run historical updater completion in a fresh interpreter so cached imports
cannot revive retired dependency installers. Share Git and ZIP completion,
carry receipt and recovery state, and preserve child exit status.
Route plugin admission, binary acquisition, desktop launch and build paths
through PM. Replace redundant helpers and tests with real worker, package,
publication and launch checks. Keep the shipped compatibility surface fixed.
Targeted Python and desktop checks pass. Native update journeys and fresh
production image qualification remain pending. This is a checkpoint before
those acceptance runs.
Build TUI, web, desktop UI and runnable agent products from explicit
prepared inputs. Keep dependency preparation separate from distribution
packaging, with PM and native builds sharing uv environment construction.
Docker copies compiled frontend products instead of build dependencies.
Nix retains uv2nix environments and consumes shared assembly through store
references. Native desktop and Termux use the same launcher and frontend
contracts. Preserve the independent PM runtime and source imports from
arbitrary working directories.
Keep failed frontend builds from replacing the previous product, reject
source/output overlap, and bound dependency-process output draining.
Include hermes_wisdom in the Nix wheel: real CLI smoke tests exposed its
missing package declaration on the base revision too.
Verified focused Python and JavaScript suites, Docker build/runtime checks,
Nix desktop and CLI/ACP checks, standalone TUI and packaged Electron PTY,
and real full-Chromium interaction. Native signed installers, Android device
installation and the full repository suite remain CI verification.
